Q: What is 60 Series (or Series 60)? A: This is a codename for platform on which a number of Symbian OS smartphones is built. These smartphones include Nokia 6600, Nokia 6260, Siemens SX1 and many others. Q: The correct name is "Series 60", not "60 Series". Why did you use wrong spelling? A: First of all, I'm very happy that advanced users with knowledge of the correct spelling also visit my website. Actually, I would be happy to name my site Series60.com, but unfortunately this domain was taken long time ago by another website. As far as I know, Series60.com website is mainly developers-oriented and is not particularly interesting for end users, so basically there is no competition between us. So, just remember that if you want some fresh and useful stuff for your smartphone you have to go to the website with wrong name. Even better solution would be to bookmark 60series.com to avoid any confusion. Q: Why there are no ringtones on this website? A: Because I don't like to be accused in copyright infringement or any other similar sh*t. Today I might put a ringtone and tomorrow I might be taken in the court by copyright owner. This is not good. I had an experience owning MP3 exchange site, and you could guess how it ended. No, I'd rather let copyright holders deal with ringtones. Take a look in the Related Websites section, there should be links to ringtone websites. Q: I've downloaded an application (game\theme\background) from 60series.com, how can I install it to smartphone? A: To send something to smartphone you need data cable, infrared (IrDA) port or Bluetooth adapter. After setting up connection between PC and smartphone file transfer in both directions is a breeze. Files sent from PC can usually be installed after locating them in the "Inbox" folder of smartphone. Generally, it is a good idea to read a smartphone manual, as such things are usually described there. The only thing that is really important is to decompress all files before sending them to the smartphone, as everything on this website is served as ZIP archives. If you wish to be able to work with ZIP files on your smartphone, you'll have to install ZipMan or something similar. Otherwise there might be lots of mutual misunderstanding between you and your phone. Q: Can I access your website from my smartphone and download something directly? A: There is no smartphone version of this site at the moment, but I'm planning to make it as soon as I would be able to. Anyways, you can visit this site from smartphone using HTML browser of your choice, but all files will be downloaded as ZIP archives, and you'll need to install ZipMan to be able to manage them. Q: Why cannot I make a direct link to a file? The webpage is downloaded instead. A: This is because I decided that it would be better this way. File links works only when they are located on one of 60series.com web pages. External file links will lead to the page with Download button. This doesn't mean that I'm against external links to files; this means that getting file instead of webpage would require one extra click.
